Here's an example of a link to an internal (this domain of beefwiki.icar.org) page called INTRODUCTION. Anytime you create a new link to a page that does not exist it shows up in red (called a "red link"). If you click on it you will have the option to create it.

Here's an example of linking to the same page, INTRODUCTION, but giving the link a different name than the wiki page's name. Everything to the right of the vertical bar, |, will be displayed:

Those two types of links are for internal (to beefwiki.icar.org). Here's an example to an external link. Notice it has only one set of [] instead of two. You don't need to use the vertical bar, |, for added text to link to for external links:
