Definition:
Given a specific weight record, taken at a specific age of the animal, and given an actual or default birth weight of an animal, a live weight gain from birth may be calculated. For the calculation of this trait, birth weight and birth date of the animal should be mandatory data. In the case of missing or invalid birth weights the average birth weight for the breed and sex can be used. The trait is expressed in grams per day.
