Definition:
milk analyser installed beside a production line on a farm that is used for analysing a representative sample once the whole milking is obtained and used either to detect or to quantify one or more components or characteristics in milk. Such devices are likely to be located close to the milking unit but can also be placed elsewhere on the farm. They can have similar characteristics as those used in laboratories and be an element of an on-farm laboratory.
